About the Proposed Ordinance
Larimer County is considering a camping and parking ordinance to address ongoing concerns related to camping, vehicle use, and access in public and private spaces.
The ordinance would:
Establish a civil enforcement process (not criminal)
Create a structured approach for addressing concerns and encouraging compliance
Provide a consistent framework for responding to reported issues
Why is this ordinance being considered?
This proposal is being considered in response to ongoing concerns from community members and public safety partners related to:
access and safety
impacts on neighborhoods and shared spaces
challenges associated with camping and prolonged vehicle use
At the same time, the County recognizes that homelessness and housing instability are complex, community-wide issues. This ordinance is one potential tool under consideration and does not represent the full scope of ongoing efforts to address those challenges.
