Over the past several years, Larimer County has experienced an increase in the number, variety, and locations of special events. These proposed updates are intended to ensure that events continue to be conducted in a manner that is safe for applicants, participants, spectators, volunteers, neighboring property owners, and the community as a whole.

Thank you for taking the time to review the proposed updates to Article 7 of the Larimer County Land Use Code, which governs Special Events.

After reviewing the documents, please complete the survey below. We encourage you to provide specific comments or suggestions in the applicable questions. Your feedback will help us evaluate the proposed revisions and identify any additional changes that may be appropriate.
Once the public review period has concluded on August 16, 2026, all comments will be reviewed and considered. The proposed code updates may be revised based on the feedback received before being presented to the Larimer County Planning Commission on September 16, 2026, at 6:00 pm, in the Hearing Room of the Administrative Building located at 200 W. Oak St. in Fort Collins. The proposed updates will then be presented to the Larimer County Board of County Commissioner at a hearing on September 28, 2026, at the same location for final consideration.

Special Event Update - Planning Commission Hearing
This public hearing provides an opportunity for interested parties to offer comments regarding the proposed project. At the hearing, the Planning Commission will make a formal recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners.
The meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format. Individuals may attend in person at 200 West Oak Street, Fort Collins, Colorado, in the Hearing Room located on the first floor. Alternatively, participants may attend virtually via Zoom.
The agenda will be published online one week prior to the hearing date. You can find the packet and the Zoom registration link here

This public hearing provides an opportunity for interested parties to offer comments regarding the proposed project. At the hearing, the Board of County Commissioners will make a formal decision.
